Alternative Healing

Lemongrass:  New Research!  I am a Certified Holistic Healing Counseler, not a physician but at the Ben Gurion University researchers have recently made the discovery that Lemongrass tea helped their patients with Cancer and had their Chemotherapy patients drink this tea before having therapy! There is an article in the Health section of Israel21c.  With as little as one gram of lemongrass contains enough citral to signal the cancer cells to "commit suicide".  This process is called Apoptosis.

I do encourage anyone who reads this to google or research this.  DO NOT replace your doctor or his advice!!!  Since this "discovery" is so recent, there are going to be more articles as research on this continues.  I intend to research this on the weekends and post information as I get it.

In the meantime, from my research, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a cup of Lemongrass tea a day. I am going to be making salves, creams, and astringent pads in the next couple weekends so you can start placing orders!

Uses: Anti fungal

         Anti bacterial

         Anti parasitic

         Anti inflammatory

         Anti viral

Regenerates connective tissues and ligaments, dilates blood vessels, improves circulation, and promotes lymph flow.  It can be used for bladder infections, resppiratory and sinus infections, digestive problems, fluid retention,Salmonella, and viracose veins.

This is a "Hot" oil and mixes well with rosemary, lavender, thym, basil, frankencense, hyssop, geranium, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, orange, petitgrain, spikenard, yarrow, and vetivert.  It is generally mixed as one part lemongrass essential oil to four parts mixing oil.

Insects dislike this oil, it is a sedative for the central nervous system.  It helps to boost the immune system as well, it helps headaches, kidney infections, and is reported to stimulate the thyroid.

This kind of healing comes in many forms, some as simple as tea and/or candles. With a little common sense you can work towards keeping healthy without much fuss. This by no means takes the place of doctors but it can help. I recommend you talk to you doctor if you do have conditions or allergies.

Aromatherapy can be as simple as having pleasant smelling candles or smoldering incense or herbs. Some scents just make us feel relaxed. A hot, relaxing bath with a scented oil is good for soothing away the stress of the day.

Reflexology can be as simple as rubbing a scented oil or lotion on hands and feet if you make sure to MASSAGE it into the right places. This sometimes is incorporated into hypnotherapy for relaxation.

Herbs have been used since before recorded history to help you stay healthy. The have been used in cooking, for teas, and it poultices. The have been smouldered as incense to invoke the power and aid of the gods in pre-christian times. These are sold by the ounce or pound; loose, in capsules, or in tea bags.

Hypnotherapy: This a session which takes from 30min to an hour, depending on exactly what the therapy is for. It is $35 per hour and done in a motel (overhead at this time is high due to this fact). There is a consultation BEFORE any therapy is scheduled to determine what is needed or IF therapy of this sort is needed. Relaxation is the most popular, but fears and phobias are dealt with as well.
